The Vermont Progressive Party grew massively following Bernie's first presidential run in 2016
and is now in a position to become a major political party.
Bernie’s second presidential run (2020) sets the perfect stage for building
a national party from the ground up.
To do this, we need experienced individuals to serve as
Volunteer Regional Organizers.
The Volunteer Regional Organizers will work with existing local organizations
to ensure a party is started in each state.
This is currently an unpaid, volunteer position
but employment opportunities are likely to become available as the organization grows.
Bernie staffers and volunteers are especially encouraged to apply.
If you aren’t ready to commit to this role but want to know about future opportunities, fill out this link. To join a general list-serve click “Join the Party”.
Research and compile ballot access requirements in each state.
Identify and contact pre-existing progressive groups. These groups should either be: a) willing (and competent) to transform into a state party committee, or b) form an alliance/coalition with us (with the inclination towards a longer-term merger), for example becoming a media partner (advertising for and endorsing us).
Identify and recruit competent state level organizers. These state organizers will take on formal roles such as Chair and Treasurer, and begin looking into legal status for a state committee, including a bank account, as well as populating county and local committees to recruit and run viable candidates.
Network with progressive media outlets or public figures in your region, collect endorsements, arrange interviews, articles, publicity. Pass off leads to relevant local or national media handlers.
Assist state parties with additional national resources (legal, media, technology). Be a middle man between the state parties and the National Organizing Committee.
